If anyone's getting it for PC, steam has an offer to get the original for free if you preorder now.

I don't understand what makes this game so "good."

If you want a legitimately good game, go for Mass Effect 2. Holy jumpin'!

My problem with games these days is the endings!

All of these games have the best story, only for me to be let down at the end.

Bioshock
Borderlands
Fallout 3

When are they gonna come out with another one of those epic ff7 endings or something?

The guy you could never kill dies in one incredibly badass attack, and then it goes on to show like a 10 minute movie...

All the old games used to have that awesome movie at the end, and now it just sorta ends..

Borderlands had the least satisfying ending of any game I played in the last few years. You kill him and you dont even get a congratulations. You get an incredibly small lump of money and no way of even telling if that was the final boss. It was just another repetitive quest with the same repetitive rewards.... You don't even get a new weapon to play with.

Not to mention I felt absolutely no urge to go on because the entire map had been explored.

At least Fallout had tons more places to explore and crazy sidequests like the UFO to keep me playing

Duke Nukem 3D has the best ending.

The point is that there are no good endings lately.. I'm not even compelled to play an rpg because the story has no real close anymore. Everyone is so focused on replayability that they don't really worry about what happens at the end.

Lost Odyssey had the most reasonable ending style thing and I was perfectly ok with it not having much replayability. If youre going to make a game replayable, it better have a LOT of replayability.. i.e different endings and such.

I thought the ending was terrible.

Spoiler:
Building up to the moment of finally fighting the man who murdered your sister and it isn't even an actual boss fight. Hell, if you wait to long to shoot him yourself Reaver does it for you. Not to mention only one choice even means anything, family to get your dog back so you can still find buried things. The other two are essentially worthless.

But other than that the game was enjoyable.
